May 2025 Payment Dates

SASSA has released the payment schedule for May 2025. Beneficiaries can now check when their grants will be paid based on the last three digits of their ID or SASSA card number.

The payment schedule has been designed to reduce congestion at payment points and ensure a smooth distribution process. SASSA has worked closely with payment providers to ensure that all beneficiaries receive their grants on time.

Detailed Payment Schedule

The payment dates for May 2025 are as follows:

• May 2, 2025: Older Persons Grants
• May 3, 2025: Disability Grants
• May 5, 2025: Children's Grants (including Child Support, Foster Care, and Care Dependency Grants)
• May 6-15, 2025: Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grants, according to the following schedule:
  • May 6: ID numbers ending in 000-099
  • May 7: ID numbers ending in 100-199
  • May 8: ID numbers ending in 200-299
  • May 9: ID numbers ending in 300-399
  • May 12: ID numbers ending in 400-599
  • May 13: ID numbers ending in 600-699
  • May 14: ID numbers ending in 700-799
  • May 15: ID numbers ending in 800-999

Payment Methods

Beneficiaries can receive their grants through various channels:

1. Direct bank deposits (payments will reflect in accounts on the scheduled dates)
2. SASSA card at retailers and ATMs
3. Post Office cash payments (according to the schedule above)
4. Mobile payment units in rural areas (schedules available at local SASSA offices)

SASSA encourages beneficiaries to use electronic payment methods where possible to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission and avoid long queues.

Important Notices

SASSA has issued the following important notices regarding May 2025 payments:

• Beneficiaries do not need to collect their grants on the first day they become available. The money will remain in their accounts.
• SASSA cards that expire in May 2025 will be automatically extended for three months. New cards will be issued during this period.
• Beneficiaries who have changed their payment method must allow 30 days for the change to take effect.
• The new grant amounts announced earlier this month will be reflected in the May payments.
